SolarTech Teams Up With Susan G. Komen For Breast Cancer Awareness

For the whole month of October, SolarTech will be teaming up with Susan G. Komen to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer. We will be donating for each system we sell throughout the month. If SolarTech sells 100 systems in the month of October, we will also be donating 10kW of solar energy to the San Diego Susan G. Komen facility.

Donating $100 For Every System Sold

For every solar energy system sold in the month of October, SolarTech will be donating $100 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. There is no limit to what we are willing to donate — the more the merrier! As an added bonus, when we hit 100 systems sold this month, we will also be donating and installing a 10kW solar system for Susan G. Komen of San Diego.

Becoming Aware: Did you know?

  • In 2017, it’s estimated that there will be approximately 250,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer in the U.S. alone.
  • There will be an estimated 40,600 deaths in the U.S. caused by breast cancer this year.

Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast divide and grow without their normal control. Tumors in the breast tend to grow slowly, and by the time a lump is large enough to feel, it may have been growing for as long as 10 years. Some tumors are aggressive and grow much faster. Between 50-75 percent of breast cancers begin in the milk ducts, about 10-15 percent begin in the lobules and a few begin in other breast tissues.
