Materials
A roof is a system, not a surface
Each layer has a job. Skipping one is where roofs fail early, and it is usually the layer you cannot see.
Underlayment
The waterproof layer between your deck and the visible roof. We use synthetic underlayment rated for high heat, because in San Diego and Phoenix this layer does most of the real work.
Tile and shingle
Concrete tile, clay, and architectural shingle from Eagle, Boral, and Owens Corning. Tile lasts longer and holds up better to sun; shingle costs less up front. We will tell you which suits your home and your timeline.
Attic ventilation
Low-profile O'Hagin vents move hot air out of your attic instead of letting it push down into your living space. Better venting lowers your cooling load and keeps the underlayment from cooking.
Flashing and penetrations
Every pipe, vent, and skylight is a hole in your roof, and holes are where leaks start. Each one gets flashed properly rather than sealed over and hoped for.

Final city inspection, full site cleanup with a magnetic sweep for nails, and your warranty paperwork in hand.
If solar is on your list
Reroofing is the cheapest moment to go solar
You do not have to add solar to work with us. But if it has crossed your mind, the timing matters more than most people realize.
Panels are built to run 25 years or more. If your roof gives out underneath them at year twelve, you pay to remove the array, reroof, and reinstall. Doing both at once means one permit process, one crew, and mounting points set while the roof is open.
There is a financing advantage too. When the roof and the solar are one project, the roof is bundled into the solar financing rather than being a second loan you arrange yourself.

Most solar companies subcontract the roof, and most roofers will not touch an array. When a leak shows up two years later, that split becomes yours to referee.

No. Roofing is a standalone service. Plenty of our roofing customers have no solar and no plans for it, and the quote you get for a roof is a quote for a roof. If solar comes up, it is because you asked or because your roof assessment turned up something worth knowing, not because it was attached to the job.
It depends on your roof. Size, pitch, the number of levels, and the material all move the number, and a tile roof takes longer than a straightforward shingle job. Weather and city inspection scheduling can add time on top of that. Rather than quote a figure that would be wrong for half the homes we work on, we give you a projected schedule in writing once we have seen your roof, and your project manager tells you if anything shifts.
Age is the first signal. Asphalt shingle typically lasts 20 to 25 years in our climate and concrete tile lasts considerably longer, though the underlayment beneath it does not. Curling or missing shingles, cracked tile, granules in the gutters, daylight in the attic, and staining on ceilings all point toward replacement. A repair is often the right answer, and if that is what we find, that is what we will quote.
SolarTech backs its roofing work with a 10-year warranty. Separately, the tile and shingle we install carry manufacturer warranties from Eagle, Boral, and Owens Corning, and those terms vary by product line and typically run longer than the workmanship coverage. We walk through exactly what is covered, by whom, and for how long before you sign anything.
We work with HOA guidelines across California and Arizona regularly. During the materials step we match tile profile and color to your association’s approved list and prepare the submittal package, including material specifications. If your project includes solar, California law limits how far an association can restrict it, and we will point you to the relevant protections if your board pushes back.
