Maxeon Solar Panels, Installed by SolarTech
Maxeon panels use back-contact cells built on a solid copper foundation, so they make more power from the same roof and are backed by a 40-year Maxeon warranty. Our in-house crews install them across California and Arizona, and every install comes with SolarTech’s 25-year installation warranty.
Inside a Maxeon Panel
Built Differently From the Cell Up
Most solar panels run thin metal ribbons across the front of each cell and solder the cells together. Maxeon moves all of that to the back. Each cell sits on a solid copper foundation, which leaves the front clear to catch more sunlight and makes the cell much harder to crack or corrode.

Figures are for Maxeon’s back-contact (IBC) panels and vary by model. Your proposal lists the exact panel and datasheet for your home.
Performance
What Maxeon Panels Do on Your Roof
A panel’s first-day rating is only part of the story. What matters is how much power it makes over 25, 30, or 40 years in real weather.
More power per square foot
Higher efficiency means fewer panels for the same output, which helps on small, shaded, or oddly shaped roofs.
Resists cracking and corrosion
Copper-backed cells flex with daily heat and cold instead of cracking, and they’re built to handle salt air near the coast.
Built for heat and partial shade
Maxeon cells are designed to limit hot spots from shading and lose less power as the panels heat up in summer.
Slower aging over time
Maxeon warrants no more than 0.25% power loss per year, so your panels keep more of their output for decades.
Compare
Maxeon vs. Standard Solar Panels
How Maxeon’s back-contact panels compare with typical front-contact panels.
| Feature | Maxeon (IBC) | Standard panel |
|---|---|---|
| Cell design | Back-contact cells on a solid copper foundation | Front-contact cells joined with soldered ribbons |
| Front of the panel | No metal lines across the cells for a clean, all-black look | Visible metal lines across each cell |
| Warranty length | 40 years for product, power, and service | Typically 12 to 25 years |
| Power warranted in year 25 | 92% | About 81% to 88% |
| Power warranted in year 40 | 88.3% | Not covered |
Standard panel figures reflect typical 12 to 25-year manufacturer warranties, based on data published by Maxeon. Always compare the datasheets for the exact panels in your quote.

For many homeowners, yes, especially with limited roof space or plans to stay in the home long term. Higher efficiency can mean fewer panels, and the longer warranty protects your system for longer. We’ll compare Maxeon with other panels in your proposal so you can decide.
Maxeon panels are rated to operate from -40°F to 185°F, which covers summers in Arizona and inland California. The copper-backed cells resist cracking from daily heating and cooling, and the panels are built to handle wind, salt air, and humidity.
