SolarTech Energy Systems has been designing and building solar systems since 2001. What began in La Mesa, California has grown into five offices across California and Arizona, with our headquarters in El Cajon for many years now.
Our mission is to change lives by making clean, affordable, and sustainable energy accessible for residential, commercial, and nonprofit customers through innovative solar solutions.
The belief behind that has not changed since the first install: when a family or a business spends less on energy, more becomes possible everywhere else. That is why we focus on systems that are sized honestly, installed properly, and supported for the long run.

Our Story
25 Years of SolarTech
SolarTech was founded in La Mesa, California in 2001 by Jason Stringham and JT Garrison, with a small team and one goal: deliver a premium customer experience at a price people could actually afford. The first installation went in on a rooftop in Poway.
There was no digital marketing behind those early years. The business was built on Yellow Pages ads, direct mail, radio, TV, and a lot of knocked doors. That groundwork paid off when solar went mainstream, and the company grew from a handful of people into a team of more than 200.
Along the way: our first commercial installation in 2017, our roofing division in 2018, expansion into Arizona in 2022, and the Los Angeles market in 2024. Today SolarTech operates from five offices across California and Arizona, with more than 15,000 installations completed.

Jason Stringham

Jason founded SolarTech in 2001 and has guided it from a local San Diego installer into a multi-state solar provider. He sets the company's direction and its commitment to workmanship that is never outsourced.
JT Garrison
Owner
JT co-founded SolarTech and brings more than two decades of solar expertise to his leadership role. His focus on customer satisfaction and premium equipment has carried the company through every shift the market has thrown at it.
Behind the founders is a team of more than 200 people, from designers and permit coordinators to the installation crews and service technicians who show up at your house.
