The Founders

Jason and JT launched SolarTech in 2001 and still set the standard for how every job gets done: in-house, on schedule, and done right.
Jason Stringham
Jason founded SolarTech in 2001 and has guided its growth from a local San Diego installer into a multi-state solar provider. As the company’s founder, he sets its overall direction and its commitment to quality workmanship that is never outsourced, keeping the standards that built SolarTech’s reputation at the center of every installation.
JT Garrison
JT, co-founder and the driving force behind SolarTech, brings over 20 years of solar industry expertise to his leadership role. His deep understanding of the industry, combined with his unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and premium products, has propelled the company’s growth and resilience amidst evolving market trends. JT embodies the company’s entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to a cleaner energy future.

Nick Hofer
Nick brings deep expertise in sales strategy, operations, and process optimization in the solar industry. As Chief Strategy Officer, he drives SolarTech’s growth and market positioning, focusing on efficiency and scalability. At OneRoof Energy, he led multi-channel sales, overseeing thousands of solar installations and boosting brand visibility.
His leadership also improved acquisition costs and sales conversions. Nick has held key roles at Gateway Computers, Micron Electronics, Cymer, and Zeta Interactive.
Andrew Hoesly
Andrew brings over a decade of experience in the solar industry to his role as General Manager. Previously, he held sales leadership positions at SunPower and managed operations at Solar Forward, driving growth and team performance. A UC Irvine graduate with a BA in Political Science, Andrew is skilled in channel sales, account management, and team leadership, making him a valuable asset to SolarTech’s growth strategy.
Grant Magoffin
Grant is Vice President of Operations, overseeing residential solar project delivery, operational efficiency, and cross-functional team performance. With over 12 years in renewable energy, he drives initiatives that expand service for orphaned systems, strengthen technical design, and streamline collections. He holds a BA in Business Management from BYU-Idaho and brings a results-focused approach to operations.
Steve Marcou
Steve is a growth marketing and digital strategy leader with 10+ years driving measurable revenue growth for consumer and service-based businesses. He has a proven record managing media investment, optimizing end-to-end customer journeys, and leading cross-functional teams across analytics, operations, product, and agency partners. Before SolarTech, he led Demand Generation for SunPower’s nationwide customer acquisition strategy.
Jacob Isen
Jacob Isen is a commercial solar leader with a proven record of driving growth and building high-performing teams. Starting at SolarTech as a cold caller, he advanced through sales and project coordination to become Director of Commercial. A former University of Colorado athlete, he brings a competitive, team-first mindset and strong sales and operations experience.
