Qcells Q.TRON Solar Panels, Installed by SolarTech
Qcells Q.TRON panels pair N-type cells with an all-black, zero-gap design, and they’re built at Qcells’ factory in Georgia. Our in-house crews install them across California and Arizona, with a 25-year Qcells panel warranty and SolarTech’s 25-year installation warranty.
Inside a Q.TRON Panel
N-Type Cells Made for Hot, Sunny Roofs
Q.TRON uses Qcells' Q.ANTUM NEO cells, an N-type TOPCon design that loses less power as panels heat up and ages more slowly than older P-type cells. The cells sit edge to edge with no gaps, so each panel makes more power from the same space and has a clean, all-black look.
- Up to 22.5%Top panel efficiency
- Up to 440 WPower per panel
- −0.30%Power loss per °C of heat
- 90.58%Warranted power in year 25
Figures are for the Q.TRON BLK M-G2+, Qcells' all-black residential panel, and vary by power class.
Performance
What Q.TRON Panels Do on Your Roof
California and Arizona roofs get hot. A good panel holds its output through summer afternoons and keeps it for decades.
Less power lost to heat
Q.TRON loses about 0.30% of its output for every degree Celsius of heat, less than typical older panels.
More power from less roof
Zero-gap half cells fit more working area into each panel, which helps on smaller or busy roofs.
Rated for wind and snow
The frame is rated for 5,400 Pa of downward load and 2,400 Pa of uplift, for strong wind and heavy snow.
Slower aging over time
Qcells warrants no more than 0.33% power loss per year after year one, so more output stays with you.
Compare
Q.TRON vs. Older P-Type Solar Panels
How Qcells' N-type Q.TRON compares with the P-type PERC panels many homes were sold over the past decade.
| Feature | Qcells Q.TRON | Older P-type panel |
|---|---|---|
| Cell type | N-type TOPCon (Q.ANTUM NEO) | P-type PERC |
| Power loss in heat | −0.30% per °C | About −0.34% to −0.37% per °C |
| Power loss in year 1 | 1.5% or less | Typically up to 2% |
| Power loss per year after | 0.33% or less | Typically up to 0.55% |
| Power warranted in year 25 | 90.58% | About 84% to 85% |
Q.TRON figures are from the Q.TRON BLK M-G2+ datasheet and Qcells' U.S. warranty. P-type figures reflect typical PERC panel datasheets and 25-year warranties. Always compare the datasheets for the exact panels in your quote.

Built in Dalton, Georgia
Qcells builds its Q.TRON residential panels at its factory in Dalton, Georgia. In 2026 it also started making solar cells at a second Georgia plant in Cartersville, which is ramping up to produce ingots, wafers, cells, and panels under one roof.
Q.TRON panels are certified under TÜV Rheinland's Quality Controlled PV program, which adds random factory checks and repeat testing on top of standard certification.

Frequently Asked Questions About QCells
It’s a full inspection of your solar system to find out why it isn’t performing the way it should, or to confirm that it is. We review your system’s data remotely, inspect it on site, and give you a written report with what we found and what we recommend.
A free remote review of your production and error data, then, if needed, an onsite review of your full system, testing to pinpoint the problem, and a written report with recommended next steps.
Most onsite visits take 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size of your system and what we find.
Yes. You get a written report covering what we tested, what we found, and what we recommend, so you can decide on next steps with all the facts.
Write down or take a photo of the code, then check whether the solar breaker in your electrical panel has tripped. If the error doesn’t clear, or the breaker trips again, leave it off and request a system check or call (619) 485-5521. Don’t open the inverter yourself.
Yes. We troubleshoot and repair home solar systems no matter who installed them, including our remote review.
It depends on your inverter brand. When you request a system check, we’ll let you know what access we need to review your system.
In every area we serve across California and Arizona. See our service areas.
Yes. Your system can still be diagnosed and repaired, and we can take over service going forward. Learn how we help with abandoned systems.
No. You can book a one-time health check anytime. If you want regular checks, every Solar Care Plan includes 1 to 3 health checks a year, plus cleaning and 24/7 SolarFax monitoring.
Once a year is a good rule of thumb. It’s also worth a check after a storm, roof work, or any drop in production you can’t explain.
This service is for home solar systems. For businesses, talk to our commercial team.
The remote review is free. If your system needs an onsite diagnostic, that visit is paid, though it’s typically covered when the problem falls under warranty. Any repairs are quoted separately, with a free estimate before work begins. Request a system check or call (619) 485-5521 to get started.
