SOLAR PANEL MONITORING
Home EV Charger Installation
Add a full day of driving in about an hour of charging. Our certified electricians install a dedicated 240V outlet for Level 2 charging, about 5× faster than a standard wall outlet. We pull the permit, handle the city inspection, and the work won’t affect your solar warranty.
Level 2 Charging
Charge in Hours, Not Days
A standard wall outlet can take days to fill a large battery. A 240V outlet turns your garage or driveway into a Level 2 charging spot, so you plug in when you get home and leave with plenty of range.
1 hr
of charging adds about a full day of driving for the average driver
5×
faster than charging from a standard wall outlet
Based on U.S. Department of Energy averages. Actual speed depends on your vehicle.
Level 1
Standard 120V outlet
- Range per hour
- About 3 to 5 miles
- 10 hours overnight
- About 30 to 50 miles
- Charger
- The cable that came with your car
- Best for
- Short commutes and plug-in hybrids
Level 2
240V NEMA 14-50 outlet
- Range per hour
- About 25 to 30 miles
- 10 hours overnight
- Enough to start most days near full
- Charger
- A portable Level 2 charger plugs in
- Best for
- Daily driving and longer commutes
Level 2
Hardwired wall charger
- Range per hour
- Up to about 44 miles
- 10 hours overnight
- A full charge for most EVs
- Charger
- Wall charger you choose, installed by us
- Best for
- The fastest charging at home
Charging speed depends on your vehicle’s onboard charger, battery size, and the charger you use. Hardwired speeds are based on a 48-amp wall charger.
Plug-in or hardwired, your choice. A NEMA 14-50 outlet works with virtually every EV through a portable charger. Want a wall charger instead? Pick the one you like and we’ll hardwire it for you. Either option charges one vehicle at a time.
Solar EV Charging
Fuel Your Car With Sunshine From Your Own Roof
No gas station, no extra fuel bill. Just the power your panels make. Your solar already produces it. Now it can drive you to work.

During the day
Charge straight from your panels
Plug in while the sun is up and your panels charge the car directly. In California, NEM 3.0 credits the solar you send to the grid at far less than what you pay for grid power, so putting it in your own car is worth more.
After work
Charge at night with stored solar
A home battery stores extra solar from the afternoon, so you can charge in the evening without buying power at peak rates.
As your driving grows
Keep your system ahead of the load
An EV adds a lot of new usage to your home. With a system sized for your driving, your solar keeps covering it instead of your utility bill creeping back up.
No solar yet? We install EV chargers for every home, with or without solar. Pair yours with a home solar system and charge on sunshine from day one.
Electrical Assessment
Can Your Electrical Panel Handle an EV Charger?
A Level 2 outlet or hardwired charger needs its own 240V circuit, usually on a 50- or 60-amp breaker. Many homes have room for it, but older homes and homes that already added solar, a battery, or other large appliances can be close to their limit. That’s why every installation starts with an assessment by our certified electricians.
- Your panel’s capacity and open breaker space
- A load calculation for your home’s current and new usage
- The best spot for your outlet or charger and the wiring route to it
- How the new circuit works with your solar and battery setup
If your panel is close to capacity, we’ll explain your options before any work starts.
How It Works

You need a dedicated 240V circuit and outlet, usually a NEMA 14-50 on a 50-amp breaker, installed by a licensed electrician. Our certified electricians check your panel first to make sure it can handle the new circuit.
Most EVs add about 25 to 30 miles of range per hour on a 240V outlet, about 5 times faster than a standard wall outlet. For the average driver, about an hour of charging covers a full day of driving. Exact speed depends on your vehicle.
Yes. A NEMA 14-50 outlet works with virtually every EV on the road using a portable Level 2 charger. It charges one vehicle at a time.
Yes. Charging during the day uses power straight from your panels, and a home battery lets you charge at night with stored solar. In California, NEM 3.0 credits exported solar at far less than what you pay for grid power, so using your own solar to charge your car is worth more than sending it to the grid.
Sometimes. Many homes have room for a new 240V circuit, but older panels or homes with solar, a battery, or other large loads may be close to capacity. We run a load calculation during your assessment and explain your options before any work starts.
Yes. We pull the electrical permit with your city and handle the city inspection for you.
No. Our EV outlet installations won’t affect your solar warranty.
It depends on your home’s electrical setup and your city’s permit process. We’ll give you a timeline during your assessment.
Cost depends on your home’s setup, mainly your panel and the distance from the panel to where you park. Estimates are free, so request one and we’ll give you an exact price.
