Substantial California FIRE ZONE Rebates May Be Available For Your Back-Up Battery System

The State of California is providing significant rebates through the SGIP program for home energy storage systems. This program has been revamped to encourage the installation of battery back-up systems for vulnerable homeowners within high fire risk areas.

Our records indicate that you may be located in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 fire zone. While most battery customers are on a waitlist for their battery rebate, if you meet certain qualifications, the State of California will reimburse a significant amount (up to the entire cost) of your battery project. Please take a moment to check your eligibility by following the steps below, then give us a call to find out how much you can save on your home battery back-up system.

STEPS TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY:

1. Go to https://ia.cpuc.ca.gov/firemap/ and confirm that your address is located in a Tier 2 (orange) or Tier 3 (red) fire zone.

2. Confirm that you meet ONE of the following conditions:

  1. You are on a MEDICAL BASELINE rate structure or have sent a letter to the Utility notifying them of any special medical condition requiring uninterrupted electrical service.
  2. You rely on a PERSONAL WELL for water service and have water storage tanks or cisterns that provide water to the residence.

If you meet this criteria, you may be eligible for a battery rebate that will cover most/all of the cost of your battery back-up system. Give us a call at 619-743-9193 to confirm your eligibility for this special rebate program and get your project started.
